Program notes:

Leader of the Pack is my homage to Michael Daugherty. I used his Dead Elvis as the basis of the attitude of the piece as well as other aspects of his pieces. It is essentially a trombone concerto with a small chamber ensemble instead of an orchestra. The title is a reference to "Jimmy" as depicted in the song by the 1964 Shangri-La's hit with the same title.
